Underwater strategy adventure PC game
Crab God is a premium strategy game for PC developed by Chaos Theory Games. It is a 3D aquatic-themed side-scrolling adventure featuring tactical gameplay. In it, players will lead a colony of crabs and protect the egg of the creature, which will restore life and balance to the ocean.
Similar to games like The Wandering Village and Airborne Empire, Crab God challenges players to overcome all kinds of challenges in an ever-changing landscape with unpredictable situations. They can check out a demo version to get a sense of what the gameplay will be like.
The Crab Messiah
The game centers around the titular Crab God and The Egg of its next incarnation. However, it is vulnerable in its current state and the journey it will need to take across the deep ocean. It is up to you to protect it while leading your crabling colony through multiple underwater biomes, facing all kinds of dangers, and reaching your destination in one piece.
Your crablings have unique traits and personalities that you need to nurture to help them grow strong and contribute to your great migration. Build coral reefs, collect food for the journey, and fend off threats that will appear along the way. Be wary, though, as you need to balance protecting the egg and growing the colony, or it will become too cumbersome to progress.
Your other important mission is to rehabilitate the ocean and create a healthy and self-sustaining ecosystem. You'll do so by cultivating various species of flora and fauna and protecting them from predators. By supporting a variety of marine life, your colony will grow and thrive. All that said, the gameplay is a little underwhelming and lacks depth, resulting in a dull and repetitive experience.
Charming but dull
All in all, Crab God is an interesting strategy adventure with plenty of charming characters and a fantastical premise that has you help revitalize the ocean world with your cute crabling colony and crab messiah. Unfortunately, the gameplay lacks depth and gets repetitive rather quickly. Hopefully, future updates can help remedy this with more content. Nevertheless, it's still worth a try.
